The National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) is the federal agency which is in charge of preserving, cateloging and providing access to the permanent records of the United States government. The two key public facitilites of NARA are in Washington DC and in College Park, Maryland (approximetely 10 miles away). A shuttle bus runs between the two facilities each day and researchers are allowed to use the shuttle for transportation when space allows.
