Seaman A. Knapp (1833-1911) was the originating founder of the Farm Demonstrative Work which later became the Cooperative Extension Service.
A non-formal educational program, the Cooperative Extension System is research-based educational system dedicated to helping American citizen to improve their lives. As an agency, it is funded by Congress and a part of the executive branch of the federal government .
